Research

A reference librarian is available at the Martins Ferry Public Library to assist you with your research questions.  You may stop by or call 633-0314 for assistance.  You may also email your questions to ejames@bcdlibrary.org.

The Belmont County District Library and the State of Ohio purchase Databases to provide electronic resources which are available 24/7.

We also participate in a large consortium of libraries across Ohio providing library users with access to books, magazines, music and movies.  The consortium currently has about 90 library systems participating in resource sharing.  If we don't own the material you are looking for, it's likely that we can get it for you.  If none of the libraries in Ohio own the item, you can request an interlibrary loan.
