| What started out as a common bond between mother and daughter has turned into a card making frenzy for Courtney Hedger. Courtney explains, "I remember as a child enjoying beautiful paper and cards with my mom. After my mom was diagnosed with cancer in 1999, I saw how much joy she got from receiving beautiful cards with inspirational sayings. I believe that really helped her through the hard times when she was going through chemotherapy and radiation treatments.
At that point, I began making my own cards and sending them to family and friends. The response from everyone was overwhelming. They all enjoyed the hard work and details I put into each card just for them. I taught myself to make cards with simple instruments such as paper, pen and scissors. Over the years my cards have become more detailed with new innovative products. You can do so much with small scraps of paper to make something very detailed. I emboss, sew, stamp, paint and quill cards. I like that the cards are not perfect, each has a flaw that adds such beautiful character.
I love to design new ideas to bring smiles and comfort to others with my handmade greeting cards, personalized stationary, shower invitations, birthday invitations, wedding invitations, party invitations, baby announcements, tags, envelopes and picture frames." |
